Avi Saxena, the Chief Technology Officer for Warner Bros. Discovery’s direct-to-consumer business, emphasized how important it is to provide viewers with high-quality captions. “Partnering with Google Cloud to integrate Vertex AI into our caption AI workflow has significantly improved our captioning process. It’s faster, more efficient, and cost-effective,” Saxena said.
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, also expressed his excitement about the partnership. He pointed out how this collaboration shows AI’s potential to transform the media and entertainment industry, offering tangible business benefits.
Max, Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming platform, is home to a massive collection of popular shows and movies, including iconic titles like “Game of Thrones,” its spinoff “House of the Dragon,” and the critically acclaimed “The Last of Us.” This new AI tool aims to ensure that these shows, and many others, have high-quality captions that enhance the viewing experience for all users.
